Iceland (2008)
It's the 1,000th (!) post on my blog today, showing a surreal landscape of boiling mudpools and steaming fumaroles in Hverir, a geothermal area in the north of Iceland. It was a weird and overwhelming experience to walk here, with the smells, the colours, the heat..

  1. I walked across a volcanic crater in Hawaii and it looked quite similar to this. I find these landscapes really beautiful.

  3. Gefeliciteerd met het bereiken van deze mijlpaal. Zag eens hetzelfde in yellowstone park.

  4. Ja, sc vermeldt het al, de stank van zwavel.... Wel vreemd om te zien deze vulkanische gaten in de grond.

  5. Congratulations, 1000 is quite a large number of blogs.
At first I thought, as I looked at the picture, that you are celebrated in honor of 1000 a decent bang. But I then read the text. Very beautiful image and a peculiar landscape..

  6. That's the sort of thing I'd love to see for myself, one of the reason I'd love to go to Iceland. This reminds me of Yellowstone's geological features.

A thousand posts is quite a mark!
